Hideaki Itsuno, the director behind the acclaimed game series Dragon’s Dogma and Devil May Cry, has announced his departure from Capcom after 30 years of working there, with another 5 months to go. In a heartfelt message, he expressed his gratitude for the long-standing support in his games and the characters he’s been responsible for, while urging everyone to continue supporting Capcom’s future games.
Itsuno revealed that starting from September onwards, he will begin developing a new game under a fresh working environment, aiming for it to be as enjoyable, visually stunning, and memorable as or even more so than his previous works.
Having started at Capcom in 1994, Itsuno’s directorial debut games were Star Gladiator and Rival Schools: United by Fate, with notable works including all 5 installments of Devil May Cry and both entries in the Dragon’s Dogma series.
