Director of Mad Max Envisions Hideo Kojima Transforming Mad Max into a Game

George Miller, the director behind the Mad Max film franchise, recently spoke with Gamingbible at the premiere of Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga about the potential for a new game in the Mad Max franchise.

Miller discussed the 2015 game developed by Avalanche Software, stating that it did not meet his expectations in terms of quality. He expressed a desire to see Hideo Kojima, the renowned game designer, bring Mad Max to life in a game someday. However, with Kojima currently focused on other projects, Miller doubts that a new Mad Max game will be created anytime soon.

The 2015 Mad Max game was released on August 31, 2015, just one day before Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain. This timing affected the game’s sales, but it was well received by Mad Max fans despite only receiving a Metacritic score of 69.

As for Hideo Kojima, he is currently developing Death Stranding 2 for PS5, OD for Xbox, and Physint in collaboration with PlayStation. Interestingly, George Miller will be appearing as a character in Death Stranding 2.

TLDR: George Miller discusses the potential for a new Mad Max game, expressing disappointment in the 2015 game and hoping for Hideo Kojima to take on the franchise in the future. Hideo Kojima is currently working on Death Stranding 2, with George Miller making an appearance in the game.
