Director Stig Asmussen unveils new studio game Giant Skull in Star Wars Jedi universe.

Director Stig Asmussen, known for his work on Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order and Jedi Survivor, recently departed from EA in 2023 to unveil his new studio’s game called Giant Skull, based in Los Angeles.

The team at Giant Skull includes several members who followed him from the Star Wars: Jedi Survivor team, along with Anthony Scott, a manager from Unbroken Studio who contributed to developing the Suicide Squad game for Warner Bros. Games.

Asmussen mentioned that he had never considered starting his own studio before and was content with his work at Respawn/EA. However, with the right opportunity, he had a change of heart. After completing the development mission for Jedi Survivor, he decided it was time to open his own studio. He expressed his fondness for the early atmosphere at Respawn when the team was small and built from the ground up, a sentiment he wishes to replicate with Giant Skull.

The debut game from Giant Skull will be an action-adventure title focusing on both narrative and gameplay, areas in which Asmussen excels. His previous works include both Star Wars Jedi games and the first three God of War titles.

TLDR: Director Stig Asmussen leaves EA in 2023 to establish Giant Skull, a new game studio in Los Angeles. The team comprises members from his previous projects and aims to create an action-adventure game that emphasizes storytelling and gameplay.
