Building on Microsoft Word, the new Copilot feature can summarize documents of up to 3,000 pages. Microsoft has added the capability for Copilot to summarize documents from entire folders, allowing for simultaneous summarization of multiple files within a folder.
For instance, if you are conducting research with a large number of referenced documents saved in a folder, all you need to do is click the attach file button in Copilot, select Browse from the OneDrive/SharePoint folder, attach all files in the folder (limited to a maximum of 3,000 pages or 1.5 million words), and then type a prompt to command what you need. Copilot will then efficiently summarize the content for you.
This feature is currently only available on Word for Web, with Word for Windows/Mac set to follow in July 2025.
TLDR: Microsoft has introduced the Copilot feature in Word, allowing for summarization of documents up to 3,000 pages and from entire folders, making research and document processing more efficient.
