Elon Musk Gets Roasted at Valorant Tournament, Crowd Chants ‘Bring Back Twitter’

Elon Musk, the owner of X, formerly known as Twitter, made a surprise appearance at the final round of the Valorant World Championship. As soon as he was spotted on the broadcast, the crowd erupted in boos and chants, demanding the return of Twitter. Despite only being on screen for a short 4 seconds, the chants continued long enough to capture the attention of the commentators and redirect the focus back to the game. The video of the incident was uploaded to X by user Jake Lucky and has already garnered over 7 million views.

In July, Elon Musk announced that Twitter would be rebranded as X. This rebranding led to a temporary ban of the website in Indonesia due to anti-gambling and media censorship laws. There were also trademark issues with X Japan in Japan.

Analysts and branding agencies criticized Elon Musk’s controversial rebranding move, speculating that the loss of the Twitter brand could potentially decrease the company’s value by anywhere from $4 billion to $20 billion. However, a month later, it appeared that the majority of the main brands were indifferent to the change, with only 1 in 25 advertisers in the United States displaying the X logo on the X/Twitter platform.
