Enhanced Gaming Experience: Alan Wake 2 New Patch Improves Game Performance, Lowers Minimum CPU Specs.

Remedy Entertainment is gearing up to release a new patch for the highly anticipated game, Alan Wake 2. This patch aims to enhance the game’s performance on older GPUs, making it more accessible to a wider audience. The result is a significant reduction in the minimum specs required to run the game, a rare feat in the gaming industry.

Technically speaking, the main focus of this patch is the implementation of Mesh Shading features, which are only available on newer GPUs that support DirectX 12 Ultimate, such as the GeForce RTX 20 and AMD RDNA 2 series. This means that older GPUs like the GeForce RTX 10, which only support DirectX 12 but not the Ultimate version, will struggle to run the game smoothly.

The team at Remedy has worked tirelessly to improve the game’s renderer without the assistance of Mesh Shader. This has led to a notable increase in frame rates, ranging from 45% to 100% compared to the original performance. As a result, the minimum specs for the game have been lowered to allow smooth gameplay on GPUs like the GeForce RTX 1070 and Radeon RX 5600 XT, with the GeForce GTX 1060 still able to run the game but at lower performance levels.

TLDR: Remedy Entertainment is set to launch a patch for Alan Wake 2 that significantly reduces the minimum GPU specs required to play the game, making it more accessible to a wider range of players. The patch focuses on improving performance without Mesh Shader assistance, resulting in increased frame rates on older GPUs.
