Gmail has recently introduced a new feature – emoji reactions. This feature allows users to express their feelings towards a message by simply clicking on an emoji button. This functionality may sound familiar, as it is commonly seen in various chat apps. However, Google has now brought this feature to emails.
Initially, this feature was rolled out on Gmail for Android. It can be found at the bottom of the email, where the existing options of Reply, Reply All, and Forward reside. With the addition of this new button, users can easily select and insert their desired emoji. Sending emojis in emails feels like sending regular emails and users even have the ability to unsend them within a timeframe of 5-30 seconds after pressing the send button. The unsend duration can be customized in the Settings.
It’s important to note that this feature is not a standard component of traditional emails. Those who wish to view emojis in emails must use Gmail since other email clients do not support this feature. Furthermore, at present, this feature is limited to individual Gmail accounts and does not support group emails with more than 20 recipients or emails in which we are placed in the BCC field.
TLDR: Gmail has introduced a new feature – emoji reactions, allowing users to click on an emoji button to express their feelings towards a message. This feature is currently available on Gmail for Android and enables users to insert emojis in emails. It is important to note that this feature is exclusive to Gmail and doesn’t support group emails or emails with more than 20 recipients, and it is not visible in other email clients.
