In addition to Google Meet, Google has also announced the integration of Duet AI’s Generative AI capabilities into the Google Chat service.
Google Chat will now work with Duet AI, acting as a chatbot in the conversation list. This AI-powered chatbot has the ability to update, search for information, and provide suggested answers by searching through text messages from the past and files in the Google Workspace platform. This will significantly improve productivity and streamline work processes.
In the chat interface, Google Chat has also made improvements by revamping the categorization into Home (for all messages), Mentions (for chats that mention the user), and Starred. The fonts and background colors have been adjusted to enhance the visibility and convenience of finding text.
Other announced features include the expansion of Spaces to support up to 500,000 participants (previously 50,000) and the introduction of Huddles, a fast voice chat feature, within the chat box. Huddles will be available later this year.
