Fallout 76 Surpasses 20 Million Players While Attracting Over 5 Million New Players Post-Series Premiere

Todd Howard, the creative director of Bethesda, revealed in an interview with Variety that Fallout 76, a game released 6 years ago in 2018, has seen a continuous increase in players, reaching a staggering 20 million players to date.

As of December 2023, the player count for Fallout 76 stood at 17 million. However, with the success of the Fallout series on Amazon Prime Video, there has been a rapid influx of new players, pushing the player count to 20 million in a short period of time. Todd, as the game’s director, admitted that he never expected such a level of success.

Moreover, he shared that the total daily active users for all Fallout games have increased by over 5 million following the series’ release, representing a growth rate of 600%. This level of growth, ranging from 4 to 6 times in some games, is unprecedented in his 30 years in the gaming industry.
