Final Day for CISA Database CVE Project Extension – Gratitude to All for Enduring

CISA, the United States Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency, has announced the extension of the database maintenance contract with MITRE Corporation after the contract was set to expire today.

The database maintenance contract was originally set to expire on April 16th, but CISA extended the agreement on the night of April 15th, expressing gratitude to all parties involved for their patience.

Previously, the CVE Foundation had stated that if the US government did not fund the CVE database maintenance, the project would be transferred to a foundation for funding and continued management. However, as of today, the US government has resumed funding the project, keeping it in its current form for the foreseeable future.
