Google Cloud Introduces GKE Enterprise with Anthos Cross-Cloud Capabilities

Google Cloud has announced the launch of Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE) Enterprise Edition, which offers advanced features for large enterprise customers.

GKE Enterprise includes additional features from GKE Standard and integrates with Anthos, Google’s multicloud management software. This allows users to run GKE on machines rented from Azure/AWS, as well as on-premise machines (Google Distributed Cloud).

Other features of GKE Enterprise include workload grouping on shared clusters, team-specific cluster management, enhanced security features such as isolating sensitive workloads and providing vulnerability insights, and policy enforcement based on organizational policies.

In addition to GKE Enterprise, the regular version of GKE also includes additional features such as support for renting Cloud TPU and A3 VM with NVIDIA H100 GPU power for accelerating AI workloads, support for connecting GKE with Google Cloud Storage FUSE for unstructured data storage, and the ability to run Duet AI workloads on GKE machines with pre-trained AI models from Google.
