Katy Perry, Billie Eilish, and Over 200 Artists Unite in Open Letter to Halt Tech Company’s AI Development Impacting Music Industry

Over 200 artists/groups have signed an open letter demanding that technology companies and developers involved cease using AI in the music industry to protect the creative works and ideas of musicians.

Signatories of this open letter include Billie Ellish, Katy Perry, Nicki Minaj, and even Frank Sinatra represented by the estate.

The open letter states that if AI is responsibly used, it can create more opportunities and foster new creative ideas in the music industry. However, if AI is misused, especially in incorrectly training on music works or infringing on copyrights, it could have detrimental effects on the music industry by producing clear-cut images and sounds that can replicate human creativity, posing new challenges for industry professionals.
