Meta AI Chatbot Begins Testing on WhatsApp, Instagram, Messenger Exclusively in India and Africa.

Meta has confirmed that they are testing the Meta AI chatbot within the WhatsApp, Instagram, and Messenger apps, impacting users in some countries such as India and parts of the African region. Prior to this, Meta had introduced the Meta AI chatbot, a customized LLM model derived from their own Llama 2 model, connected to real-time data from Bing. This integration is expected to be rolled out to almost all of the company’s services. The decision to test it in India first was significant due to the vast user base of Facebook and WhatsApp combined, totaling over 500 million people.

Additionally, Meta has also confirmed plans to release a new version of the AI model, Llama 3, next month.

TLDR: Meta is testing the Meta AI chatbot in WhatsApp, Instagram, and Messenger, starting in countries like India and Africa, with plans to launch a new AI model, Llama 3, soon.
