Q3 2023 Amazon Experiences Exponential Growth in the Advertising Sector While Cloud Revenue Witnesses Remarkable 12% Upsurge

Amazon has reported its third quarter results for 2023, with sales increasing by 13% compared to the same period last year, reaching $143,083 million. Net profit also saw an increase, reaching $9,879 million. The cash flow from operations over the past 12 months increased to $71,654 million.

The standout performance in Amazon’s business operations over the past few years has been AWS. The revenue for AWS reached $23,059 million, with a 12% increase. This segment also generated a profit of $6,976 million. The advertising business also performed well, with revenue of $12,060 million, experiencing a 26% increase.

During the earnings announcement, Brian Olsavsky, the CFO of Amazon, provided insights into AWS’s recent growth. He mentioned that AWS experienced a decline in growth over the past few quarters due to customers controlling their costs. However, there has been a recent trend of increased workload utilization. Additionally, CEO Andy Jassy noted that AWS has closed significant deals in September, which will be reflected in the current quarter’s results.
