Redefining Visual Brilliance: AMD Unveils Radeon Driver with Cutting-Edge Fluid Motion Frames Technology for Enhanced Video Scaling

AMD has released the latest version of their graphics card driver, Adrenalin Edition 24.1.1. One notable addition to this driver is the inclusion of AMD Fluid Motion Frames (AFMF), a technique that enhances frame rates. AFMF is similar to the technology used in FidelityFX Super Resolution 3 (FSR 3), which was previously made available as open source. However, AFMF is solely focused on creating frames and does not include upscaling capabilities. AMD has now integrated AFMF into their Radeon graphics card driver, eliminating the need for separate downloads. Additionally, AFMF is compatible with all games that use DirectX 11 and 12.

To utilize AFMF, users will need a Radeon 6000, 7000, or 700M graphics card, whether on a desktop or laptop. This technology can increase frame rates by up to 97% at 1080p resolution and 103% at 1440p resolution.

Other new features in this Adrenalin version include AMD Video Upscaling, which leverages the power of Radeon RX 7000 GPUs for video upscaling, compatible with both web browsers and media player applications. It also adds support for the newly released Radeon RX 7600 XT graphics card and upcoming games like Like A Dragon: Infinite Wealth and Tekken 8.

TLDR: AMD’s latest graphics card driver, Adrenalin Edition 24.1.1, introduces AMD Fluid Motion Frames (AFMF) for enhanced frame rates. It is integrated into the Radeon driver and supports DirectX 11 and 12 games. Other additions include AMD Video Upscaling and support for new GPUs and games.
