Revamped Steam Update Now Incompatible with Windows 7 and 8; Unveils Game Recording for All Users

Valve released a significant Steam Client Update at the beginning of November 2024 with two previously announced major changes.

The Steam Game Recording feature, allowing users to capture gameplay clips, has been widely implemented for everyone after being in Beta testing since mid-year.

This version of the Steam Client no longer supports Windows 7 and Windows 8, meaning users on these operating systems will not update to this version. Similarly, Mac users will not be supported on macOS 10.13 and 10.14.
