Revealing: 25% of Creators’ Current Revenue on YouTube Stem from Ad Revenue Shares in Shorts

YouTube has reported statistics for the short video platform Shorts, with current average views reaching 70,000 per day. The YouTube Partner Program (YPP), which provides revenue to creators, introduced Shorts into the revenue-sharing mix last year.

Currently, 25% of creators’ revenue through YPP comes from ads on Shorts, reflecting the rapid growth of income channels from vertical short videos in just one year. Interestingly, more than 80% of creators in the YPP program based solely on Shorts views can now generate income from other YPP models as well. This reflects YouTube’s ability to provide new options for creators by developing content in different formats that can also generate revenue.
