After Apple unveiled the iPad Air, MacBook Air, and Mac Studio, rumors are once again swirling. This time, it comes from Ming-Chi Kuo, the seasoned supply chain analyst.
Kuo predicts that Apple will introduce a foldable iPhone around 2026-2027, with the earliest possible launch in the following year. This product will be positioned as a premium model, priced around $2,000-2,500 or approximately 67,000-84,000 Baht (compared to the starting price of $1,199 for the iPhone 16 Pro Max). One of Apple’s selling points is that this will be the most AI-capable iPhone due to its larger screen compared to other models.
The specs include a 7.8-inch display that unfolds vertically like a book without any visible creases on the screen. The external screen measures 5.5 inches, with a device thickness of 9-9.5 millimeters when folded and 4.5-4.8 millimeters when unfolded.
A key detail revealed by Kuo is that this foldable iPhone will bring back Touch ID for fingerprint scanning instead of Face ID due to space constraints within the device.
All specifications are subject to change, with Apple expected to finalize them within this year for a late 2026 to early 2027 launch.
TLDR: Ming-Chi Kuo predicts that Apple will release a foldable iPhone with premium features, including a larger AI-capable screen, around 2026-2027, marking a shift back to Touch ID for fingerprint scanning instead of Face ID.
