After facing criticism for not having standout games for PlayStation VR 2, Sony is now attempting to address the issue. During a recent State of Play event, they unveiled two new games for PS VR2.
The first game is Skydance’s Behemoth by Skydance Interactive, a subsidiary of the film company Skydance that has recently ventured into the gaming market. Known for their VR games based on The Walking Dead series, it’s no surprise that they continue to dabble in VR gaming. Skydance’s Behemoth is a colossal monster-slaying game set on a snowy mountain with ancient castles, featuring a dark fantasy atmosphere and using weapons like swords, axes, and bows. The game is set to be released in the fall of 2024 on other VR platforms as well, including Meta Quest 3 and SteamVR.
The second game, Alien: Rogue Incursion, comes from the studio Survios, known for their VR games. This game takes place in the Alien universe and involves combat with the alien species on a spaceship, with a completely new storyline that sets it apart from other film-based games. Despite the fresh narrative, the game maintains a creepy atmosphere where players never know when the Xenomorphs will strike.
Alien: Rogue Incursion will not be exclusive to PS VR2 and is scheduled to release on other platforms as well, including Meta Quest 3 and SteamVR in the fourth quarter.
