Starfield Game Players on Steam Embrace 97% Drop in Favor of Fallout 4 and Skyrim, Where Gameplay Enthusiasts Thrive Exponentially

Microsoft Gaming and Bethesda Softworks’ AAA game, Starfield, had a staggering 330,597 concurrent players on Steam during its launch. However, after 5 months, the player count has dropped significantly, now sitting at a mere 97% on Steam, with an average of 7,963 players in the past 30 days.

Comparing it to other Bethesda Softworks games, Fallout 4 had an average of 15,086 players in the past 30 days, while Skyrim had 20,710. These numbers show that Starfield’s player base has dwindled in comparison.

Additionally, on Twitch, only 135 viewers watched Starfield-related content in the past 7 days, which is a drastic decrease of 99.97% compared to its peak of 552,021 views.

In December, Phil Spencer, the CEO of Microsoft Gaming, revealed that the player count for Starfield had surpassed 12 million, including those who purchased the game and those playing through Game Pass. However, the sales figures have not been disclosed.

TLDR: Despite a strong launch with over 330,000 players on Steam, Starfield’s player base has significantly dropped to around 7,963 in the past 30 days. Comparatively, other Bethesda Softworks games like Fallout 4 and Skyrim have higher player counts. Twitch viewership for Starfield content has also drastically declined. While the game has garnered over 12 million players overall, specific sales figures have not been provided.
