The Resurgence of Microsoft Paint: Unveiling the Cutting-edge Cocreator Feature Empowering AI-driven Image Generation through Dall-E

Microsoft Paint has recently introduced a plethora of new features in September 2023, which are more extensive than any updates in the past decade. We’ve come across the news of the Background Removal feature and Layer / Transparent PNG Backgrounds.

The newly unveiled feature, which aligns with previous rumors, involves the use of Dall-E to generate AI-created images directly within Paint. In terms of engine and image output, it is not much different from the previously launched Bing Image Creator. However, the user experience now includes a new addition in the top Ribbon bar called “Cocreator” button. Clicking on it opens a sidebar where users can input prompts, select image styles, and order the creation of the desired images.

From the screenshot, we can observe a limited credit coin system, similar to Bing Image Creator. However, it is still unclear whether these credits are counted separately or combined with the overall account quota.

The new version of Paint will be available in the Windows 11 September 2023 Update, set to release on September 26th.

TLDR: Microsoft Paint has introduced new features, including Background Removal and Layer / Transparent PNG Backgrounds. The latest addition involves the use of Dall-E to directly generate AI-created images. It will be available in the Windows 11 September 2023 Update.
