Trump Instructs Tim Cook to Close Apple’s Facilities in Mexico and Shift Production to the United States

President Donald Trump announced that Tim Cook, the CEO of Apple, has pledged to relocate manufacturing plants from Mexico to the United States. Trump stated that Apple will close down those 2 plants and invest hundreds of millions of dollars in America to avoid facing import tax barriers.

Tim Cook met with Trump yesterday, but the details of their conversation have not been disclosed. Apple has declined to comment on this news and has not clarified which two plants in Mexico Trump was referring to. The manufacturing plants that produce products for Apple in Mexico are owned by Foxconn, which has also announced plans to expand its investments there.
