Ubisoft unveils Chroma color blindness test suite for gamers

Ubisoft has developed a colorblind test suite called Chroma to test their own games, aimed at understanding how colorblind gamers (whether partially colorblind or completely colorblind) perceive images in the game. This tool was initiated in 2021 by the Quality Control team in India, who wanted to create a colorblind simulation tool to help game developers understand how colorblind players see images in the game.

Most recently, Ubisoft has open-sourced Chroma for public use. The source code is available on GitHub and can be used with any game, regardless of the game engine. It can be tested at a maximum frame rate of 60 FPS.

TLDR: Ubisoft has developed Chroma, a colorblind test suite, to help game developers understand how colorblind players perceive images in games. The tool, open-sourced by Ubisoft, can be utilized by the public and is compatible with any game at a maximum frame rate of 60 FPS.
