Readyverse Studios announces the release of OPEN, a AAA-level Metaverse Battle Royale game for PC and current-gen gaming consoles. Developed by Walker Labs, with a team that boasts experience working with major industry players such as Epic Games, DICE, Microsoft, PlayStation, Mojang, Remedy, Ubisoft, Lucasfilm, Electronic Arts, and more.
Founded by Shara Senderoff, Aaron McDonald, and Ernest Cline, author of Ready Player One, Readyverse Studios promises a game filled with characters and Pop Culture references from various popular franchises. The gameplay features cooperative and competitive modes where players must strategize, move fluidly, engage in sharp gunfights, and showcase driving skills.
The teaser video reveals glimpses of retro gaming machines, the DeLorean car, and Reebok shoes, with the character Parzival from Ready Player One making an appearance. While no gameplay is shown, the use of Unreal Engine for development is confirmed.
Wajhi Jafri, Walker Labs’ creative director, emphasizes the close collaboration with Ernest Cline, aiming to create a memorable experience for players to immerse themselves in for years to come.
