YouTube to Initiate User Data Tracking on iOS for Tailored Advertising Campaigns

Apple has implemented the IDFA data tracking permission on iOS since iOS 14, requiring every app to request user consent for tracking data. Users have the right to deny consent under Apple’s App Tracking Transparency (ATT) privacy policy.

Recently, YouTube has started requesting permission to track data under this ATT. Users will receive notifications to grant permission for this data tracking. However, users of YouTube Premium and accounts designated for children on YouTube will not receive this notification.
