Enhance Your Mobile Experience with One UI 6’s Revolutionary Auto Blocker: Safeguarding Against Sideloading of Money-Sucking Applications

Samsung has unveiled the Auto Blocker, a security feature that is part of the One UI 6.0 firmware. This innovative tool aims to protect users from cyber threats. The Auto Blocker offers a range of features to enhance security.

Firstly, it prevents the installation of apps through sideloading on Android devices. This helps safeguard users from scams that trick them into installing malicious apps designed to steal money or data (though it is deactivated by default).

The Message Guard is another notable feature available on Samsung’s firmware. It defends against text messages containing malware or hidden code within image files. Initially, it only protected Google/Samsung SMS apps, but now extends to other messaging platforms such as Messenger, Telegram, KakaoTalk, and WhatsApp (although LINE is not included).

Moreover, the Auto Blocker also prevents the installation of apps without the user’s knowledge or unauthorized control commands through USB connections.

It is important to note that all the features of Auto Blocker are opt-in, meaning users must manually enable them.

TLDR: Samsung has introduced the Auto Blocker as part of their One UI 6.0 firmware. This security feature helps protect users from cyber threats by preventing sideloaded app installation, guarding against malware in messages, and blocking unauthorized app installations and control commands. These features are optional and need to be enabled by users. Source: Samsung.
