Enhanced File Management Capabilities with Windows 11: Right-Click to Create 7-Zip and Tar Files in File Explorer

Microsoft has released Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 22635.3640, which includes a key feature of supporting the creation of 7z and Tar files in File Explorer, as opposed to only being able to create ZIP files with a right-click menu in the past.

Previously, Microsoft has been gradually adding features for extracting RAR, TAR, and GZ files since last year. This time, they have added file compression features directly into Explorer. This means that it is almost unnecessary to use external compression software anymore, as it should cover almost all use cases.

Another new addition in this version is support for Emoji version 15.1, which includes various emojis such as green lemon and a phoenix bird.

TLDR: Microsoft’s Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 22635.3640 introduces support for creating 7z and Tar files in File Explorer, reducing the reliance on external compression software. It also adds Emoji version 15.1 with new emojis like a green lemon and a phoenix bird.
