Exclusive Release: Final Fantasy VII Rebirth Game Disc – Thai and Japanese Screen-Printed Dual Edition

Square Enix has announced a production error with the official release of the game Final Fantasy VII Rebirth today. The issue lies in the screen printing of the discs, with the Play Disc and Data Disc being swapped. This mistake affects both the Japanese and Asian versions of the game, including the ones sold in Thailand. Consequently, inserting the disc to start the game will require using the black Play Disc and the white Data Disc interchangeably.

The game Final Fantasy VII Rebirth has a capacity of approximately 145GB, exceeding the maximum capacity of a Blu-ray Ultra Disc, which supports up to 100GB. As a result, the physical version of the game necessitates two discs.

Not long ago, a similar error occurred with the game Persona 3 Reload, where the game was labeled as English but turned out to be Chinese. Sega offered players the option to register for a digital English version and promised to send the correct version on disc later. However, in the case of FFVII Rebirth, Square Enix may not offer any compensation as the language in the game aligns with what is stated on the box.

TLDR: Square Enix announced a production error with the game Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, where the Play Disc and Data Disc were incorrectly printed. This resulted in the need to use the black Play Disc and white Data Disc interchangeably. The game’s capacity of 145GB exceeds that of a Blu-ray Ultra Disc, necessitating two discs. Square Enix may not offer compensation for the error, as the in-game language matches the box information.
