Introducing Google’s Trillium 6 Chip: Unprecedented 4.7x Processing Power Boost Over Previous Models

Google has unveiled the TPU Chip model 6, named Trillium, which has been improved in both performance and energy efficiency. Trillium can process up to 4.7 times at peak level compared to the previous TPU v5e model, with a better energy utilization rate of 67%. Trillium has doubled the size of HBM, doubled the ICI connecting multiple TPUs, and utilized the SparseCore processing accelerator model 3, resulting in reduced latency and better support for newer models processing faster at a lower cost. TPU Trillium will be available for use later this year.

TLDR: Google introduced the new TPU Trillium chip with improved performance and energy efficiency, set to release within the year.
