Financial Times has reported that OpenAI is in talks with LoveForm, a design company founded by Jonathan Ive, the former head of Apple’s design team, to develop a device similar to an artificial intelligence-powered iPhone.
The current process involves Jony Ive and Sam Altman, the CEO of OpenAI, collaborating and discussing how the device should be and what it should look like. Both have set a goal to create a device that provides a natural user experience for artificial intelligence usage, taking the example of how the iPhone revolutionized the mobile phone industry.
In addition to this, the project is currently seeking funding from Masayoshi Son, the CEO of SoftBank, with a value of 1 billion dollars. According to Financial Times, Son has proposed that Arm, a company developing chipsets for mobile devices, be involved in this project.
