Selected Sony PlayStation Studios Personnel Liberation Underscores Divestment Impacting Visual Arts Sector.

Several PlayStation employees have announced through their LinkedIn/Twitter accounts that they have been laid off from the company. These employees are mostly in the art department, working on designing and creating graphics for various games under the Visual Arts Group or PlayStation Studios Visual Arts in San Diego. They have contributed to supporting studio games under the Sony umbrella, such as The Last of Us Part 1.

One example of an employee who was let go is Daniel Bellemare, who had the position of Senior Level Designer. He mentioned that he had only been working on a yet-to-be-released game for 6 months before being laid off due to company-wide layoffs at PlayStation, not because of his performance.
