The Cutting Edge Comes to a Close: Samsung TV’s Steam Link App To Cease Operations On November 30th

Valve has announced that the Steam Link app will no longer be available on Samsung TVs after November 30, 2023. This app allows users to stream PC games from Steam onto their TVs or phones. Samsung integrated the Steam Link app into its TVs back in 2017.

Even though Samsung recently introduced the Gaming Hub, focusing on streaming games with collaborations from Xbox and Nvidia GeForce Now, Valve, being the pioneer, has decided to step away. Valve states that users can still access the Steam Link app on Apple TV, Android devices, including Nvidia Shield and Amazon Fire TV.

Numerous users have shared their experiences using the Steam Link app on Samsung TVs. Some users encountered issues with the TV’s volume control, while others mentioned that the app occasionally froze when attempting to stream games with resolutions higher than 1080p.
