The Language Creators of Java, Python, C#/TypeScript, and Smalltalk Join Forces for a Charity Fundraiser

Four of the most renowned programming language creators have come together for the first time in a charity fundraiser called the Language Creators Charity Fundraiser. The event aims to raise funds for Last Mile Education Fund and NumFOCUS through ticket sales.

The four language creators participating in the event are Adele Goldberg (Smalltalk), Guido Van Rossum (Python), Anders Hejlsberg (Turbo Pascal, C#, TypeScript), and James Gosling (Java).

Organized by the PyData Seattle group, the event will take place on September 19, 2023, in Bellevue, Washington.

Three out of the four aforementioned creators (excluding Goldberg) have previously shared the stage together in 2019, along with Larry Wall, the creator of Perl.
