The Unveiling of the Google Pixel 8 and 8 Pro in a Lackluster Fashion: An Exploration of Cutting-Edge AI Features

Google has recently unveiled two new smartphone models, the Google Pixel 8 and 8 Pro, following the successful completion of the Made by Google 2023 event. These smartphones boast AI capabilities that enhance processing power, as well as software updates and security features from Google spanning seven years.

The key specifications of the Google Pixel 8 include a 6.2-inch Actua Display, with a 1080 x 2400 resolution and a 20:9 aspect ratio. This device supports Smooth Display, with a refresh rate ranging from 60 to 120Hz, and reaches a peak brightness of 2000 nits. Weighing in at 187 grams, the Pixel 8 comes equipped with a 4,575 mAh battery that supports Fast Charge, allowing users to reach 50% battery capacity in just 30 minutes. It also boasts 8GB LPDDR5X RAM and storage options of 128GB or 256GB in UFS 3.0 format. The Google Tensor G3 chip and Titan M2 are responsible for its processing power, and it also includes built-in VPN support. In terms of photography, the device features a 50MP primary camera with a 1/1.31-inch sensor and an f1.68 aperture, granting an 8x zoom capability and an 82-degree field of view. Additionally, it includes an Ultrawide 12MP camera with autofocus and a 125.8-degree field of view, as well as a 10.5MP front-facing camera with a 95-degree field of view. Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.3, and 5G Sub 6GHz are also supported.

The Google Pixel 8 particularly shines in its photography capabilities, utilizing AI for enhanced image processing. This results in two new features: Best Take and Magic Editor. Best Take utilizes AI to alter people’s facial expressions in order to capture the desired shot. By utilizing multiple similar shots, it creates the best possible final photo. On the other hand, Magic Editor allows users to manipulate objects or adjust various elements within images, a feature previously demonstrated at the Google I/O conference.

Another notable feature is the addition of the Audio Magic Eraser, an audio compression app that effectively tackles video and audio noise. It offers different modes for handling speech, crowd noise, wind, and music. In the demonstration video, it successfully removes dog barking by using the Noise feature and lowering it by -77 decibels.

Moving on to the Google Pixel 8 Pro, it shares many similarities with the Pixel 8 but emphasizes video capabilities with two standout features: Video Boost and Night Sight Video. Video Boost enhances the colors of recorded videos, resulting in vibrant yet natural-looking footage. Meanwhile, Night Sight Video utilizes AI to enhance video quality in low-light conditions, ensuring brightness while maintaining excellent image quality.

Additionally, the Google Pixel 8 Pro introduces Pro Control for photography enthusiasts, allowing manual adjustments to ISO, shutter speed, and more. AI is also incorporated into zoom photography, resulting in clearer images at up to 30x zoom compared to other smartphones.

The starting price for the Google Pixel 8 is $699, while the Pixel 8 Pro starts at $999. Unfortunately, these devices are not yet available in Thailand.

In conclusion, the latest Google Pixel smartphones offer an impressive array of features, making them a compelling choice for photography enthusiasts and those seeking top-tier AI capabilities. With their advanced specifications, AI-powered image processing, and innovative video features, these devices are set to make a significant impact in the smartphone market. TLDR: Google has unveiled the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro smartphones, featuring advanced AI capabilities, impressive camera functionalities, and innovative video features. With their sleek design, powerful specifications, and Google’s commitment to software updates and security, these smartphones are set to make waves in the industry.
