Untouched by TikTok in Thailand: The Verifiable Absence of a Horizontal-length Video Propulsion Directive, Exceeding the Mark of One Minute

At the recent TikTok for All event held at the TikTok headquarters in Thailand, the Blognone team had the opportunity to discuss a trending topic in other countries. It was revealed that TikTok is encouraging content creators to produce longer, horizontal videos that exceed one minute in length. This strategy aims to boost visibility by extending the video’s lifespan to 72 hours. TikTok Thailand, however, clarified that they currently do not have such a policy in place, emphasizing that TikTok’s policies vary across different regions.

During the same event, Mr. Pisut Rojjanaleart, Head of Operations at TikTok Thailand, shared some user statistics on the platform. The data indicated a significant increase in viewership of videos exceeding one minute in length, with a 50% rise in users watching such content over the past six months. Additionally, creators who produced videos longer than one minute witnessed a fivefold increase in followers. Videos exceeding one minute also saw a 41% increase in views, seven times more than shorter videos. Moreover, viewers spent 31% more time on videos longer than one minute, compared to a 27-fold increase for shorter videos.

In addition to these developments, TikTok has announced plans to enhance their in-app editing tools and introduce new features to aid creators, including Film in-app, Splitter, and Text to Speech. The platform will also be refining their Editing Tools and Creator Center.

In summary, Mr. Pisut stated that fun and inspiring content created by TikTok’s shining stars will continue to be the driving force behind TikTok’s content until 2024. These creators cover a wide range of topics including entertainment, travel, food, beauty and fashion, knowledge, sports, and gaming. TikTok aims to provide increased support to content creators on its platform.

TLDR: At the TikTok for All event, it was discussed that TikTok is pushing for longer, horizontal videos to increase visibility. TikTok Thailand currently does not have such a policy but shared statistics indicating an increase in viewership of videos longer than one minute. TikTok plans to introduce new editing features and enhance their Creator Center to further support content creators.
