According to a report from The Information, OpenAI (the developer of ChatGPT), is projecting revenue of over $1 billion in the next 12 months, thanks to software sales and processing packages for individual and organizational customers.
OpenAI had previously projected revenue of around $200 million for 2023, but stated that it expects to reach billions of dollars in 2024. These preliminary figures reflect OpenAI’s potential to meet its goals. The company’s latest revenue is approximately $80 million per month, nearly quadrupling compared to the previous year.
Microsoft, a significant investor in OpenAI, has recently invested around $10 billion as part of an exclusive cloud service provider agreement.
