Return of Supercharger Employees Following Tesla Layoffs: A Two-Week Recap

After releasing the entire Supercharger team earlier this month, Tesla has reportedly had a change of heart and rehired some employees. One of the rehired managers is Max de Zegher, the director of charging for the northern region of America, who is the cousin of Rebecca Tinucci, the former head of Supercharger who was previously let go by Elon. However, it is still unclear how many employees have been brought back.

According to Electrek, Elon’s decision to dismiss Tinucci was because she was unwilling to let go of team members as much as he wanted. This behavior from Elon is not uncommon, as seen in 2019 when he decided to close all Tesla showrooms before changing his mind two weeks later. This time around also seems to have taken approximately two weeks.

TLDR: Tesla rehires some Supercharger team members after initially letting them go, including Max de Zegher, but reasons for the initial dismissals remain unclear.
