Valve Affirms Influx of Future Steam Deck Iterations to Emerge in the Next 2-3 Years, Aiming to Deliver Revolutionary Hardware Specifications.

In a recent interview at the Tokyo Game Show 2023, Pierre-Loup Griffais, the Deputy Head of Valve, shed some light on the future of Steam Deck. According to Griffais, we won’t be seeing any new hardware releases from Valve for the next couple of years.

Valve’s reasoning behind this decision is their desire to create a stable target hardware, allowing game developers to work without constantly having to adjust their games to meet new specifications. Currently, the Steam Deck is considered to be in a sweet spot, offering a suitable performance for both older and newer games on the market.

Griffais also highlighted the strengths of the Steam Deck, particularly its operating system, which is constantly being updated. The latest update, version 3.5, has introduced additional features such as VRR and HDR.
